Missions/Evangelism

Our Women's Missionary Union groups meet regularly and have monthly mission projects that are made known to the entire church. These projects are designed to help meet the needs of a variety of groups, primarily in our local area. Our WMU also spearheads efforts twice each year to collect monies for missionaries serving in North America and around the world.

Missions emphasis with our children is accomplished especially through our Wednesday evening AWANA program, with children's offerings used to help an array of mission efforts. Our yearly Vacation Bible School encourages our children to give to support missions, and our children have given unusual amounts to help further missions works around the world.  Additionally, our local missions outreach includes Good News Club, an evangelistic Bible club that meets on-campus at Fountain Inn Elementary School.

Opportunities to directly participate in missions surface throughout the year at First Baptist. For a number of years we have worked in conjunction with the Master's Mission as people from our church have helped to deliver "Joy Boxes" to orphanages in the Ukraine. At least once each year, our church sponsors a trip to do missions work outside our area. Designed to encourage families to participate, our recent mission trips have ranged from Montana to Mexico, Alaska to the Gulf coast, and to other states like West Virginia and Kentucky.

Through the Cooperative program of the Southern Baptist Convention, we have the ongoing opportunity to help support missions work all around the world. Through the years First Baptist Church has given over 2 million dollars to world missions.

We also support a wide variety of other mission works directly through our monthly budget.
From Fountain Inn to the farthest corners of the globe, through our church we have the opportunity to be a part of God's work in missions.

We believe in reaching out and sharing the love of God, both locally and around the world.
